North American FM Education Guide

The IFMA Foundation is proud to present the first edition of the North American FM Education Guide, a compilation of information on academic institutions that offer facility management programs. The intent of the guide is to serve as a reference book for facility management stakeholders and to bridge the information gap between facility educators, students and industry professionals.

North American FM Education Guide Goals:

  • Provide an exchange of information and experiences among students, educational institutions and industry members to encourage networking and communication between universities and industries.
  • Develop a reference publication that details the course of study for students, educators and practitioners of existing Facility Management education programs.
  • Help identify standards for facility management curricula
  • Assist universities and professional organizations in the creation of a document that can be used:
    • As a recruiting tool
    • To advance research interests through shared information on common projects
    • As a one-stop reference guide which summarizes contact information for each institution

Established in 1990 as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, the IFMA Foundation works for the public good to promote research and educational opportunities for the advancement of facility management. The IFMA Foundation is supported by the generosity of the facility management community, including IFMA members, chapters, councils, corporate sponsors and private contributors who are united by the belief that education and research improve the facility management profession.
