Rock the Foundation Tour

The 'Rock the Foundation' concept had its beginnings with the 2007 and 2008 IFMA Foundation gala auctions at World Workplace where FM industry leaders were offered as speakers.  Based on the success of the California Sustainability Mayday in 2008; the inaugural Rock the Foundation Tour was born in 2009.  The 2009 tour included multiple stops in Chicago, Boston and New York. 

The plan was simple; to provide a series of 'low cost, high value' industry presentations to raise funds for the IFMA Foundation's education, research and scholarships in these tough times. In addition, this initiative was not only intended to raise the profile and funds for the IFMA Foundation, but also as a good news story for FM, reaching industry leaders, practitioners and students.  In the end it is all about doing something positive and investing in the future for our industry's capacity to be the foremost contributor to a more productive and sustainable Built Environment.

Now you can download your own piece of 'Rock the Foundation' via www.ifmafoundation.org   This information is shared free of charge, however if you want to REALLY 'Rock the Foundation' a donations will be greatly appreciated as it allows the Foundation to continue its promotion and support of the FM industry through its work with course accreditation in higher education, research and scholarships.

Rock the Foundation: the Malaysian stopover - the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia and Global Facilities Management Sdn Bhd held their 2009 Seminar ‘Asset & Facility Management Industry – The Way Forward’ in Kuala Lumpur on June 9.  IFMA Foundation Trustee, Stephen Ballesty from Australia, presented ‘Total Asset Management (TAM): the Sydney Opera House experience’ and ‘Sustainability in FM: a view from Downunder’.  Also sharing their experiences on the same program were Arun Khanna, HSBC’s Head of CRE and Kenneth Foo, Head of Building Operations and IFMA’s Singapore Chapter President.

 The momentum is building, so be ready to bid at the IFMA Foundation gala auction on October 6 at World Workplace when you get to determine which cities host the ‘Rock the Foundation’ 2010 tour.
