At WWP 2007 in New Orleans, the IFMA Foundation organized a “work project” that involved painting and refurbishing six fire stations in the greater New Orleans area. Many of these fire stations had not had any measureable maintenance in the past 10 to 15 years. Approximately 150 volunteers gave up their Saturday following WWP to help with the immensely successful effort. Bank of the West donated $10,000 to help underwrite all of the expenses incurred and the remaining $7,000 was donated directly to the New Orleans Fire Dept. In addition, Grainger made a donation to the NOFD in the amount of $20,000.
