'Rock the Foundation' tour continues...
The 'Rock the Foundation' concept had its beginnings with the 2007 IFMA Foundation gala auctions at World Workplace where FM industry leaders were offered as speakers. This resulted in the California ‘Sustainability Mayday’ 2008 in Sacramento and the ‘Rock the Foundation’ 2009 tour covering Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York and Kuala Lumpur. The ‘Rock the Foundation 2010’ tour included multiple gigs chronologically covering Atlanta, Chicago, Hong Kong, Houston, Kuala Lumpur, Madrid, San Antonio, Singapore, Shanghai and Sydney (twice). Our 2010-11 speakers alphabetically have included Dr. Jack Bacon, Stephen Ballesty, Caroline Burns, Matt Dawson, Nicholas Ferrara, Tony Garland, Francis Kuhn, Cary Johnson, Tom Mitchell, Darrin Norbut, Kathy Roper, Michael Schley, Shelia Sheridan, Teena Shouse and Pat Turnbull. A simple plan; provide a series of 'low cost, high value' industry presentations to raise the profile and funds necessary for the IFMA Foundation's education, research and scholarships activities in tough times. In addition, this initiative provides a good news story for FM, reaching industry leaders, practitioners and students worldwide. It’s all about doing something positive and investing in the future for our industry's capacity to be the foremost contributor to a more productive and sustainable Built Environment.
