Grants
Over the years the IFMA Foundation has continued to support
the professional development of facility managers by making educational
tools and opportunities available to individuals in the profession.
Local Seminar Grant
Established to assist organizations, whose primary emphasis is the built environment, offset the cost of hosting a local facility management seminar presentation to 20 or more facility professionals. Grants are available on a “needs assessment basis” and limited to those organizations willing to disclose their financial records demonstrating financial hardship and inability to fund such a seminar fully through their own means. The maximum grant is $500 and must be matched by the applicant.

The grant program was established to support the educational needs and goals of qualified facility management professionals and associates who are not receiving financial support from their employers. For the qualified applicant, the IFMA Foundation will match 3rd party (chapter, council, school etc.) contributions up to $500 per person, with a maximum grant award of $1,000/person per review period. The IFMA Foundation supports educational programs, including locally held degree, certificate and designation programs, as well as individual classroom-style courses. Once an application has been approved, disbursement of funds is contingent upon successful completion of the education program.
Membership in the International Facility Management Association is not required.

Research Paper Award
This award is available to individuals that author research papers that are specific to the facility management industry. The paper must deliver value to the industry. With an award potential of up to $5,000, this should become a very popular program. The amount of the award is based on the significance of the material and the value it provides to the FM Community.
All applications must be received by May of each calendar year, and the work must have been produced in the same 12 month period as the application. Each application is evaluated on its own merit and the limited funds are available on a first come, first served basis. Other restrictions apply, so please contact the IFMA Foundation for more details.
Full time members of academia and private or public sector businesses are excluded from being considered.
